Won't work!

The revenue model of go2hk simply does not work. They try to charge the user a commission of a successful deal but no one pays it. Everyone is expecting the service to be free and not willing to pay for a cent for its service. |

This site keeps improving in spite of the downturn of this industry. This is worth encouragement. |

I think go2hk will eventually die

I think GO2HK can rarely make money even their site is well-known locally and they're suffering loss continuously. Their main investor Man Chin is playing his Quamnet very hard and won't put any effort / money into this business as I think. Their money in hand can only maintain the business from 3 to 6 months. Investors dare not to inject any money to this kind of non-profit making auction site in this small market. |

GO2Hk is very likely that it couldn't earn much at the end of the day, charging commission? The platform for auction site is too easy to copy/duplicate so there wont be much stickiness, it's true they got many visits but if one starts charging commission. Well, visitor will shift quickly to those providing the service for FREE. Btw, i used to sell/buy 2nd hand stuff thru newsgroup in the good old days and auction site is only a plus in the process, not something necessary. |

Nice start, the way to survive!

I’ve learned from the newspaper that both Next Media and GO2HK increased their revenue by HK$100,000 per month. I think this is a good start for all ICP and B2C companies, in order to keep the high quality and company going, charging for a minimal fee is the way to go! Even with a lost of member or number of auctions at the beginning, it’s worth. This is what I call “Short Term Pain, Long Term Gain”! |

Although they start to charge seller, I will support them and pay commission.
As long as I can still sell my goods in Go2HK, I will continue to support them.
Don't let your supporter down.

GO2HK is surly innovative and energetic

A year ago, GO2HK stunned the market by launching a free and easy-to-use online auction site for HK users.
A year later, they try to do that again by start charging commission.
Both actions are healthy for HK market!
This will upset many members because HK people want lower and lower and lower fee. But some quality sellers will stay because they can sell better (with less competition) and GO2HK should find ways to keep buyers.
Afterall, buyer pays the commission in fact! |

Are they going crazy?

What's wrong in the market? Every auction site in Asia is going to charging money soon. I do agree it's a "Free and Die", but they didn't realize it's even worst because if they start to charge transaction fee, it's going to be "For sure Die", as many member suggested in GO2HK, they don't mind a small HK$50 yearly membership fee, but definitely not fee everytime they want to sell something. Please kindly consider our suggestions. |
