I ordered a book and they charged my credit card right away, instead of when it ships, which is unlike most retailers. Then the book turned out to not be out of stock and I was told that my credit card would be refunded in 4-6 weeks, which is an awful long amount of time when other retailers have never taken more than 2 weeks to refund a charge. It has been 4 weeks now and no refund and customer service is not helpful. Do NOT purchase from this retailer or you will likely be ripped off.

I strongly suspected the previous post written by florence lee from Switzerland on 07/30/2002 was actually CP1897 staff! Most of my friends who ordered books from CP1897 had bad experience with them, the books took forever to reach them and their support line is always busy, never return your inquiry email. Please stop promoting yourself here and we will reveal every truth of your service.

I am another angry customer of CP1897.COM, their delivery and customer service seemed to be greatly under staff, as there is never return calls nor email reply. However, if you do live near their physical bookstore, it's a great time shopping there as great discount and saving with Hang Seng credit card, ah...then why bother with their web site? It's so useless!!!

I really don't understand how CP1897.COM came up to number 1 in on-line book store category, in my view, it's actually the worst! Worst in terms of its web site searching function, customer service, after sales service, everything seemed unacceptable! If you take a look at the latest Next magazine or East magazine, many people complains about their poor customer service with BAD attitude towards complains. I suggest avoiding using CP1897.COM in the future!

I’ve ordered a Chinese titled book 2 weeks ago and CP has absolutely no follow up on my order. Then I start to call their customer service number, it’s always the voice mail and worst I can’t even leave my complains because the voice mail system always said some technical problem. Email request is the same, no reply at all! This kind of crappy service is not acceptable!!! Compare to Amazon, CP is at least 500% worst!!!

Worst of the Worst is exactly the phrase to CP1897.COM's customer service, never reply email, never take customer's suggestion, site always hangs my Netscape browser and credit card charges are a big mess. How can this kind of so-called brick and mortar dotcom even exist on the market? I strongly recommend you NOT to purchase books from this site. Avoid them and this will definitely make your life much happier!

I won't recommend shopping at CP1897.COM at all as I am totally disappointed by their system and customer services. I ordered about 10 books last Monday, and I received an email saying 5 of them are out of order, then I called to cancel the order TWICE, and CP1897.COM confirmed, but CP1897.COM still charges my credit card even they don't have the books, this is absoultely ridiculous. Btw, the site is not user-friendly and they will never return your email will pickup the photo at CS.

I've called CP to cancel my order two weeks ago and got their confirmation both via email and telephone, but I still received the item today!!! What kind of service is this? It's totally crap!!! I would suggest CP to re-train all your staff before you say you are one of the best on-line bookstore in Hong Kong because you do not deserve the title at all!

I ordered a book a month ago, they were out of stock a months ago, still out of stock a months later...I called up their customer service and the lady told me they still haven't got the book I ordered. I asked if she can check with their retailer outlet to see if they have any stock. the reply is, if we don't have it, the retail outlet won't have it either. Went to their TST store, found a pile of the book i try to order sitting out there in their promotional corner!!!
