Why pay even I am in Hong Kong?
Written by Vikki Chow from Hong Kong on 11/30/2001

I am used to check Apple Daily's news site daily, but recently I found the local ISP Netvigator I am using is blocked and treated as oversea connection. The result? Even local Hong Kong resident needs to pay to read the detail of the newspaper!!! How ridiculous this is!!! I hope the management of Apple Daily resolves this problem ASAP!!! |

I enjoy reading apply daily's on-line newspaper from New York, actually I started to browse AP's Web site back to 1996, Apply Daily is the first mover in Hong Kong and they have built a very strong brand among oversea community. I am sure there is a large group of loyal readers do not hesitate and pay the subscription. It's much cheaper and convenient compare buying the newspaper from Chinatown. |

Simply Not Fair!

I used to love visiting Apple Daily for entertainment news, but recently they imposed a services charge for all visitors outside Hong Kong. This is not fair at all! We still can find free proxy on the net to get around this. This kind of restriction is very "small gas" in your Chinese term. Please correct immediately or you will lose all the audience and advertisers in the future! |

Appledaily will soon charge their overseas users for a subscription fee. Apparently, no one think it could work. Viewers will simply shift to another free site. However, if AD starts it, then it will set a very good reference case for the local ICP to monetize their content. |

Absolutely Right

So sad to see such a wonderful newspaper going all the way down to such a notorious paper that people have lost confidence on the stories published. It was painful for me to part company with the paper, but that was once and for all. |

Apple Daily is the number one selling newspaper in Hong Kong, but it cannot deny the fact Apple Daily use a lot of make up stories, dishonest report and many ways to cheat in order to increase their sells. Btw, the speed of the site is too slow, need to considering upgrade. |
