| The global crash of the technology industry has created a negative investment environment. Many China dotcom depending on Internet-related revenues have struggled to find financing or mergers to cope with their cash flow problems. Even Net East was ruled to de-list from NASDAQ last week. Some have run out of money and failed. Few can be rescued, in whole or in part, after entering liquidation. |

| In southern part of China, netease.com is the biggest; however on the north, Sohu is the biggest. In a recent Internet World debate, the CEO of neteast.com claimed they have the most cash among all the giant ICPs in China. Well, this seemed to be a trend in Asia. Companies like to put cash from IPO in the bank and use for various investments, then their accounting statement will look much better at quarter end (ie, revenue increased, but not from its core business). Isn't this funny or sigh? |
