Netvigator is the leading provider of broadband for the HKSAR. The service continues to evolve as PCCW devises value-added services for both enterprise and consumer-level customers, including wireless access. The top-of-the-line Business Netvigator service offers dedicated Internet access that provides a direct, full-time connection to the Internet from 64K to E1 lines and is supported by an expandable high-speed network and customer service geared towards LAN/WAN environments.
Comment Broadband subscriptions increased! * * * * *

The number of broadband Internet access subscriptions in Hong Kong has jumped by 223 per cent from last year to make up one-third of all Internet access accounts. In comparison, growth of dial-up Internet access subscription has slowed and a downward trend in pricing for broadband subscriptions would further drive broadband growth and narrow the gap between dial-up and broadband subscriptions. I like the NetCash part and NOW.COM free access until the end of December!

Originally, IMS was my best choice for ICP, but this week's massive laid off is a sign for "ICP is dead". I would like to see how the smart management wrap up the netvigator services. Will PCCWHKT take up the operation? What content they are going to buy outside? I don't see any good & valuable content providers in HK. Cut & crop is the first and most easier job in the reconstruction process. What's coming next will be the crucial question. A Big Sigh!

I used to visit Netvigator serveral times a day, but that's back in 1994. Life was so good in the old days, there are only two big ICP in HK, one is Netvigator, the other is HKStar. The quality and update of Netvigator has dropped dramatically. If you are looking for entertainment, you will go to show8, if you are looking for stock price, you will go to e-Finet, etc. It's really a pity to see Netvigator became a legend and yesterday's history in such a short time!
Comment One of the best before, but... * * * * 1/2 *

Back in 1995, when Internet wasn't that popular in Hong Kong, I used to surf IMS Netvigator almost every day, it's the one I visit besides HKStar. In recent years, IMS Netvigator has not been keeping up with the competition, instead, it focus in the marketing and expanding it's infrastructure than content. The overall layout and design is still from 1997. May be IMS management could do something about this.
