| Lycos Asia's reported acquisition of MyRice.com will increase the portal's reach in China, but Yahoo! could take a commanding lead in China's Internet market by buying Sohu.com. Even chinadotcom corporation could surpass Lycos in the China market by buying any one of China's top three portals: Netease, Sina.com, or Sohu.com. |

| How come Lycos Asia paid more than HK$1B to acquire this crappy company? Or it’s it just another make up story about the amount of money involved? From what I learn, myrice.com was buying mainland China’s dotcom like crazy last year, ranging from RMB$20K to RMB$400,000. Big portions of those acquisitions are personal homepage. I really don’t know how they calculated out MyRice is worth more than HK$1B asset! |
