Great B2B site and International B2B to boot!

The best B2B site I have seen. Even better, it is international in nature so for businesses that are able to export, it is an even greater goldmine! |

Time to Switch

In times like this, it is surprising how Aibaba still be able to survive with their over-crowdy, undefined content. Instead of specialising in a certain industry, Alibaba has too much info inside its portal - which remove many values in business sense. However, they set a good example in trade-exchange and matching. But watch out, in dot-llars value, you must specialise in certain industries. |

Sign! The largest community without revenue!

The free service for buyers and suppliers is really hurting Alibaba, there are jokes like "the leading Asia B2B Web site with revenue-free business model." I think they need to change their business model in order to get the next round funding. In other words, Alibaba definitely needs to realize that their current strategy to build the largest community in the world does't work any more. |

Way to success?

Alibaba had a much harder job to compete because they didn't have existing bases to work from. Most of these similar companies are trying to build a community by offering free services to suppliers and building strategic relationships with high volume buyers that suppliers want to sell to. With minimal revenue, I really wonder how they can survive in 2001!

The best gateway for B2B companies.

Alibaba.com is the gateway of east and west, it opened the trading door between countries. Its inspiring idea influenced many followers to step towards B2B models. I liked it simply because it's easy to use and helped us in bring more revenues in trading with our foreign partners using the Internet. |

Great as the first starter, but fail back now.

Alibaba has a great start and very clever in accumulating the buyers/sellers without much marketing cost. However, look how much revenue they're generating! They offer virtually no value added service, while its smaller competitors are already providing escrow service, payment gateway connection, fulfillment system, customs clearance services. I must say they have poor execution and really lost their first mover advantage. |

Alibaba save my company

We are a manufacturing SME in France and recently we were near bankrupt because we couldn’t have enough material for the deadline. Time was limited and our management team went on-line and seeks help from Alibaba. With a few clicks, we found our pipe supplier in Singapore, and the whole ordering process completed in about 20 minutes. Thank you Alibaba, you save us. |
