Comment Disappointed * * o o o
Written by Tim Roberts from Hong Kong on 11/25/2000
I am quite disappointed when watching Richard via the Internet. He's just trying to avoid the questions asked by the host and don't have the courage to face them directly. Btw, I think he made too much funny facial expressions, that make me laugh.
Comment Not being responsible! * 1/2 * o o o

I watched tonight's TVB's broadcasting of Richard Li's interview. I would say Richard didn't answer honestly to many of the host answers. He used to be one of the most shining stars in Asia, but after the HKT's merge, I saw him as normal as other, just another greedy businessman.
Comment Finished! * 1/2 * o o o

With CMGI's announcement of selling out two dot-coms, PCCW's partnership immediately drop to nowhere, that's why we all see people selling PCCW's stock like crazy and PCCW was buying back the stock crazy as well. From it's failed e-Now recently, we somehow sensed the company may not last for an other year.
Comment Troublesome! * 1/2 * o o o
Written by IBank Analyst from Hong Kong on 11/7/2000
Investors have soured on PCCW, pulling the stock down from HK$26 to a low of HK$7.10 in just months. Two ventures have unraveled. Critics have been unimpressed with his Network of the World vortal. Heavy in debt, PCCW had to renegotiate its IP backbone and mobile telephony deals with Telstra to prevent the Australian telco from walking. I really hope there is miracle to help PCCW this time.
Comment Not user friendly! * * 1/2 * o o
Written by Phillips Spencer from Hong Kong on 11/3/2000
PCCW's Web site is not user friendly, I can't easily access to archived news. Font size is too small, especially looks ugly when the background is black. I also noticed some content is not printable.
Comment Is the legend over? * * 1/2 * o o
Written by Warren Nicolson from Hong Kong on 9/20/2000
Recent news about PCCW is really hurting the company badly, GigaMedia has dropped the contract and follow by CMGI. Many investors think PCCW no longer sustained as the leading Internet company nor they believed in the NOW.COM story. No doubt about Richard Li’s ambition to become the new media king, but this time he’s going to pay deeply simply because he doesn’t know the game well. PCCW will no longer be a legend because there is no path to profit or foreseeable revenue.
Comment Questionable Business Model * * * o o
Written by Johnny Willy from Hong Kong on 9/15/2000
PCCW's business model is questionable and their revenue model doesn't provide a short-term turn over. After a year of expectation, the NOW.COM seemed still in its beta stage. Contents are not customizing to Asian based viewers and as well as lots of programming errors. No wonder the entire big investment houses in Hong Kong is selling out HKSE: 0008 this week.
Comment Lot of money and very little vision * * 1/2 * o o
Written by Analyst from Hong Kong on 8/13/2000
PCCW's idea of doing a bit of everything will lead them into cannibalizing themselves. Truly a company with a lot of money and very little vision. Expect most of their ventures to fail, and a VERY high turnover rate, either because of redundancy or disgruntled employees.
