Comment Bad service * o o o o
Written by Santosa from Hong Kong on 5/15/2001
The email service of hongkong.com is really bad, always down and their system can't display Chinese Big5 code properly, and they are going to cut the current email a/c by didn't log in for last 90 days, what a @#@$ policy, try Yahoo instead.
Comment Face the reality... * * * * o
Written by Analyst from Hong Kong on 3/4/2001
No more under-table tricks or modifying the revenue report. After what NASDAQ and Hang Seng Index dropped so many last months plus the interest rate is going down every month. I don’t think hongkong.com will still post a profit by the end of this year. They must figure out a way to generate money with their existing business model, or us, the fund mangers will sell without “faces”.
Comment Positive earning from interest! * * 1/2 * o o
Written by Lemay Osborne from Hong Kong on 2/14/2001
I can’t believe Hongkong.com counted its interest earning again into the revenue and make the positive earning announcement. Most of the Asian based ICPs are trying their best to turning into something “non-ICPs”, like TOM.COM keeps buying traditional media companies, etc. Paying content is another trend of source of income, but who would pay for the readily available contents these days? May be the bad habit of getting free content has been establish too long already.
Comment Content Rich hongkong.com... * * 1/2 * o o
Written by Peter Cornell from Hong Kong on 1/31/2001
Content is not just filler material intended to draw a casual audience back to your site on a daily basis. It is that news, entertainment, and reference material that makes going online worthwhile in the first place. Certainly, hongkong.com did a great job in this aspect. Without content, Internet usage would fall and many of the key drivers of e-commerce and access provision revenues would disappear.
Comment Love is in the around the corner. * * * 1/2 * o

I saw the WBoard "outdoor personal eCard" - the first-of-its-kind in Hong Kong. hongkong.com's new QBoard personalised greeting service is for members who want to say something heartfelt and important to their partners in a unique and very special way, users the opportunity to experience a fully-integrated eCard service from the virtual into the physical world. Wanna to try that? Please click to hongkong.com!
Comment Gambling is against the law! * * o o o
Written by Howard Lau from Hong Kong on 12/15/2000
The recent Mahjong promotion from hongkong.com is against the HKSAR law and it’s already being reviewed by the police department because hongkong.com didn’t apply for the license prior launching the on-line game. Btw, I noticed the English version has disappeared for quite a long time.
Comment Cash is the king! * * * * o
Written by Belinda Ho from Hong Kong on 12/5/2000
I like the re-structured hongkong.com. Much easier to navigate and find things I am interested in. There are so much trouble in Asian dot-com companies recently, laid off staff due to over-burned. It's really difficult for most of these companies to get their second round fundings these days, so who ever got the most cash really rule the market. hongkong.com is one of them and with their carefully spending and turning into e-commerce, I am sure it will stand out among others pretty soon!
Comment I like the 4U series. * * * * 1/2 *
Written by Carmen from Hong Kong on 11/11/2000
I think hongkong.com is probably the most well know ICP in Hong Kong, but outside HK, it's profile is surprisingly low. I particular like the 4U series and I do think they did a great job in building up a successful on-line community.
Comment New Design * * * * o
Written by Jacqline Fung from Hong Kong on 10/20/2000
I like hongkong.com's new design, it's much clean and nice to use. They may realized the previous design is too crowed and it's like a zoo when you browse the site.
Comment I like the new layout * * * 1/2 * o
Written by Herry from Hong Kong on 8/22/2000
When I browse to hongkong.com this morning, I found they quietly changed the main page layout. I really hope hongkong.com will have a new face with a new management team after the recent laid off! Keep up guys!
