Comment Flash abuse. * 1/2 * o o o
Written by Flasher from Hong Kong on 8/18/2000
This is one of the typical Hongkee sites with tons of flash content (well, do they know anything else other than flash?) Those animation may be nice to look at on the first visit, but will quickly become a pain for returning viewers. Maybe they just want to distract people from the lack of substance at their site or they simply do not expect returning viewers at all.
Comment Take it through a useability study... * o o o o
Written by TA from Hong Kong on 8/12/2000
The she.com flash intro. is quite nicely done by itself, but any portal site who hasn't figured out that users don't want to click the "Skip Intro" button a zillion times during their repeated visits is doom to die. The site is obviously done by designers for the sake of design. Take it through a useability study and the result will surprise you... :-) Quoting my wife (honestly from my wife): "But I am sick of those twirling and spinning things already."
Comment Design Sucks! * 1/2 * o o o
Written by Anthony Marts from Hong Kong on 8/12/2000
How come they forced their viewers to look at their flash for 1 min without a skip button ? For first time user, this is ok but this will really kick people out. Quality of a site has to been determined by a variety of facts.
Comment The site has generated noise because... * o o o o

Everyone in the industry knows that she.com sucks. The site has generated noise because it is created by some rich kids with strong family background. Read more deeply on the N magazine article and you will all know that they are selling their family background, not the site.
Comment She.com will fold soon. * * 1/2 * o o
Written by JC from Hong Kong on 8/12/2000
As an internet analyst, i do think that another b-to-c site focusing on woman will not work. And looking at the current management make-up... i do have to agree with heman that she.com will fold soon.

Comment tom.com would never... * * 1/2 * o o
Written by heman from Hong Kong on 8/12/2000
I am merely commenting on the lack of experience of the management and how tom.com would never have had invested in she.com with that kind of valuation if not for (i) the connections of two of its founders and (ii) the connection of two its founders.
Comment What's with this new dot-com? * 1/2 * o o o
Written by Heman from Hong Kong on 8/12/2000
What's with this new dot-com? There are so many women's site now and we don't need another one. What's more? The tom.com's acquisition is just soo freaking bogus? What kind of a valuation is this? With the kind of management (simply just kids of famous people), she.com is going nowhere.
